Stef and I went to the Chicago Bike Show and we were able to sit on one of the new Volusia Intruders. They have the same seat height as the Savage and other Intruders (27.6 inches). The handlebars are kinda funky, but that could be changed. As for the carb situation, the 1500 only has one carb, and it works just fine. I don't see any problems with using only one carb. As a matter of fact, I see a plus to it---you don't have to synchronize. With my VS700, I have to keep the carbs in sync or it doesn't run right. My VF700 Sabre has FOUR carbs. Talk about a PAIN IN THE ASS to synchro!

Although the Volusia is billed as being the "Baby Brother" to the 1500, it is only 2 inches shorter than it's "Big Brother". It uses a monoshock on the rear, but I would expect it to handle about the same as the 1500, which is a real treat to ride. It also has a slightly larger fuel tank than the 1500. Overall, I was impressed with what Suzuki has done with it. It looks much, much better in person than it does in the magazines. The dealer here in Jackson, MS. said they would be selling them below the $6599 MSRP. Somewhere around $6099 with some nice extras thrown in.
